Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk is desperate for Naby Keita to avoid injury for the 2020-21 season and prove to the English Premier League that he is world class.
Keita, 25, moved to Liverpool from RB Leipzig in 2018 after receiving praise while playing for the German club as well as in Salzburg.
Keita made a name for himself as one of the potential midfielders while playing in Germany – a quality he possessed while controlling the ball as well as creating and blasting goals among those who managed to attract the interest of several European giants.
However, the expected performance with Liverpool was unsuccessful when squeezed with injury problems until the second half of the 2019-20 season where Keita started to get the beat.
Van Dijk is excited to see Keita shine and hopes the midfielder’s fitness issue will not be an obstacle for next season.
“I am very happy for Keita,” he said. “He is a hard worker and an extraordinary person.
“We can see him, he is unlucky because he often has injuries but we hope he can be fit throughout the season.
“I feel he is a world-class player. I can see every moment he holds the ball, he is always making smart moves, he is a creative player.”
