Brighton and Hove Albion signed Dutch national Joel Veltman from Ajax on a three-year contract.
The defender has been Brighton’s newest player since the arrival of Adam Lallana from Liverpool.
Veltman is a product of the Ajax academy and participates in the three Eredivisie successes the team has earned.
The 28-year-old also played in the semi-finals of the Champions League (UCL) 2018-19, but was crushed by a cold injury two seasons ago.
Brighton head coach Graham Potter said, “We are thrilled with Joel’s presence in the club.
“He had a great experience with Ajax – including UCL – and of course with the England national squad.
“He is an excellent defender who is able to play in the right and middle positions.
“Veltman is ready to compete in the EPL. We are very happy he is now a Brighton player.”
